October-December: During the second nine weeks, the students will be working on:

• Digital Citizenship (how to be safe, responsible, and respectful online)
• Storytelling-in order
• Responding to literature
• Non-Fiction text features (table of contents, photos, sidebar, glossary, labels, charts, etc.)
• Matching fiction and nonfiction texts
• Compare and contrast like stories

​August-September: The first grade students have had a wonderful start to Library!  They will be working on:

• manners in the library
• Library rules and procedures
• Book Care
• What makes a graphic novel a graphic novel?
• Reading with Style
• Finding a "Just Right" book
• Novel Effect (app soundscapes)
