During the second semester, the students:

• learned about the Young Hoosier award, read many YH nominees, and voted on their favorite YH book!​
• Identified and read books with different points of view
• continued using Destiny to search and find books of interest
• created 6 Word Memoirs
• discussed internet safety

October-December: The third graders will work on the following skills during the second nine weeks:

• Dewey Decimal System
• Destiny searches
• Call number scavenger hunts
• book recommendations
• problem solving and teamwork, while they work on Breakout boxes

August-September: The third graders will be:

• reviewing library rules/procedures
• ​discussing story elements (character, setting, plot, solution)
• working on different genres (realistic fiction vs historical fiction)
• comparing characters from different stories
• Novel Effect (app-soundscape)
